Many relationships run into difficulties from time to time, and although we have expanded our services, relationship counselling still remains our core activity – and nowadays people in a ‘relationship’ can be married, separated, single, living together. People may also be in a hetrosexual or in a same sex relationship.
What is Relationship Counselling
Relationship counselling is a confidential therapeutic service providing the opportunity with to explore and understand difficulties in the couple relationship and find ways to resolve the problems. Relationship counsellors are aware of the need to hear both sides of the story and do not take sides or act judgmentally. Through their impartiality and empathy with both partners, they can provide a space for the couple to talk, listen and be heard.
As difficulties in communicating feelings honestly is usually the most common block to relationships, the opportunity to do this is the first important step to changing an unhappy situation.
Who is it for?
Anyone concerned about their relationship can attend, whether they are married, living together, separated or single. People may be in a heterosexual or in a same sex relationship. The relationship might be past, present or in the future.
Who are the counsellors?
All of our counsellors are fully trained professionals with specific expertise in relationship counselling. They undertake continuous specialist training in relationship issues and some further trained to deal specifically with sexual problems. (See Sex Therapy section on this website)

You will be offered a confidential one hour appointment to come and talk about your difficulties with an experienced counsellor who will help you decide the best way forward. If it is agreed that counselling is the best option, you will then be placed on the waiting list until a suitable counsellor is available to work with you at a time that suits you.
Appointments need to be made by phone in order to give you a suitable date and time immediately.
